Steven joined the CME team in June 2024 as Manager for Energy and Climate Policy. Steven has a twenty-year career largely in the UK energy and decarbonisation space, including various policy and delivery roles in the UK government. In his previous role, he led cross-government work to develop the UK’s hydrogen and Carbon Capture, Usage, and Storage (CCUS) sectors.
Prior to this, Steven worked as a government relations advisor for Shell UK’s upstream oil and gas, hydrogen, CCUS, and offshore wind businesses. In previous policy and delivery roles in the UK government, he led work on decarbonising the power system, gas security, carbon pricing, and represented the UK in European Union negotiations on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Physics from the University of Reading, UK and a Master of Science in Science Communication from Imperial College London, UK.
