Inspiring Girls - Careers Forum

About the day

The Inspiring Girls Careers Forum is a unique careers event designed to showcase the resources industry to female secondary school students and to inspire them to follow in the footsteps of women who have achieved great personal and career success in the resources sector.

On 31 July 2024, CME hosted more than 200 students and 80 mining and resources sector company representatives at our annual Inspiring Girls Careers Forum at Optus Stadium.

This event aims to inspire the next generation of women into the industry by showcasing the broad variety of career pathways and skill sets needed, as well as the benefits of working in the sector.

Students participated in a challenge developed by Australian Earth Science Education to ‘discover’ gold in Kalgoorlie and heard the inspirational career journeys of Kelsie Clarke from Woodside Energy, winner of the Women in Resources Awards (WIRA) 2023 Outstanding Young Woman in Resources Award and Clarisse Orchard from Callidus Group and finalist of the WIRA 2024 Outstanding Operator/Technician/Trade Woman Award.

CME would like to thank all of the event sponsors and company representatives, Australian Earth Science Education, guest speakers, and the students and teachers for another incredible event!
