The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia (CME) welcomes today’s announcement by the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) that prices will be held at current levels until at least 1 July 2016.
“Notwithstanding volatile commodity prices, the major challenge facing the Western Australian resources sector is the high cost of doing business. To that end, the PPA’s decision on pricing is a welcome announcement,” said CME Chief Executive Reg Howard-Smith
“CME is hoping other port operations follow the lead of the PPA and assist industry during challenging times. Continued export growth and trade will deliver ongoing prosperity to the community of Western Australia,” said Mr Howard-Smith.
