Tim joined CME as Chief Economist in July 2023. He has over 30 years’ experience in economics, finance, public policy and administration, health and human services, serving as WA’s Under Treasurer for almost a decade. He led reform of the state’s finances, intergovernmental relations, revenues, procurement, shared services, public works and strategic projects. This was followed by over five years in the role of Mental Health Commissioner of WA. Tim has worked directly to four Premiers, five Treasurers and six Ministers.
Tim also served on the Beyond Blue board of Directors from 2008 to 2019, was Deputy Chair from 2011 to 2019. He also served on the board of the Western Australian Treasury Corporation, as Chair and Deputy Chair, for over ten years. He is currently a board member of Reconciliation WA and has been Chair of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre Advisory Board since 2014 and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Faculty of Business and Law, Curtin University. He is also currently Chair of the board of Richmond Wellbeing, WA’s largest community mental health support service provider.
Tim graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) and is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant, Australia.
