Geoscience Data Transformation Strategy released

The Geological Survey of WA (GSWA) has released a five-year Geoscience Data Transformation Strategy, outlining the WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) plan to improve and modernise the storage, management and accessibility of the State’s wealth of geoscience data.

The CME Exploration Committee was run through the detail of the strategy by Jeffrey Haworth, Executive Director Geological Survey and Resource Strategy within DMIRS, highlighting the importance of improvements to access and quality of geoscience databases held by GSWA.

With this geoscience data being one of WA’s most valuable assets to facilitate exploration, CME will continue to engage with DMIRS to provide an industry perspective on opportunities to leverage it.

A copy of the Geoscience Data Transformation Strategy can be found on the DMIRS website.
