DMIRS Safety Awards finalists named

The 2022 Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards finalists have been announced. The awards recognise outstanding solutions and innovations to specific workplace health and safety problems in WA and are hosted by Worksafe WA. This year 77 submissions were received, with 36 companies recognised as finalists.

CME’s Resourceful Mind peer support collaboration with Lifeline WA is among the three finalists in the Best intervention to address a psychosocial hazard in the workplace category.

CME congratulates all the finalists and we’re looking forward to the awards ceremony to be held on 28 October at the State Reception Centre. You can register to attend the ceremony here

PCBU and Officers under WA’s new WHS laws!

CME and AMEC invited guests to attend a seminar on Persons Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) and Officers under WA’s new Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws under the WA Government’s Peak Body Program. This event provided attendees with an opportunity to hear from WorkSafe and leading industry professionals, on the requirements of PCBUs and Officers under the new WHS laws, what it means for businesses, and recommendations to navigate the new legal requirements to continue providing safe workplaces.

The event hosted at the Melbourne Hotel in Perth was a great success, with more than 100 attendees, 6 presenters and some great takeaways. CME looks forward to hosting further events under the Peak Body Program in the future so keep your eyes peeled on our social channels!
