CME’s South West Regional Officer Jason Mennell returned to his old stomping ground – and his former career! – when taking part in the recent Perth-Laverton Cycling Classic.

CME was the title sponsor for this year’s event, which raises important funds for cycling and youth mentoring programs in Laverton. The CME team this year featured Jason, Naomi Plummer (Health, Safety and People Adviser) and Rob Carruthers (our former Director of Policy of Advocacy).

Writing in The Kalgoorlie Miner (where he worked for several years), Jason outlined some of the highlights of the ride and also the unique experience competitors had in learning direct from Traditional Owners and Custodians about their connection to country.
