Busy month for Digital Technologies program

The CME Digital Technologies program has been busy over the past month, from launching in our first South West school to showcasing the program to students and teachers at the It Takes a Spark STEM conference.

Manjimup Primary School students were excited to be part of filming for the Safer Smarter Cleaner campaign and being part of the first cohort in the South West region to participate in the CME Digital Technologies Program. With thanks to CME Members Talison Lithium, Albemarle, Tronox and Monadelphous, the program is now ready to be rolled out at 19 schools in the South West. You can read more about the visit to Manjimup Primary School in this article on the Manjimup-Bridgetown Times

Digital Technologies Program Project Co-ordinator Asta Morton recently attended the annual It Takes a Spark STEM Conference at Peter Carley Anglican School. The conference is a showcase of STEM education attended by over 400 students, 80 teachers and 40 schools. Students enjoyed the opportunity to code a robot to follow a mine site map and have some fun with Bee-Bot robots. Teachers in attendance were highly interested in the program, how it aligns to the curriculum, and when they could be a part of it!

With a waitlist of schools across WA wishing to participate, CME Members interested to help support the Digital Technologies Program are encouraged to contact Asta Morton (a.morton@cmewa.com).
