ACH Act Reference Group to oversee co-design process  

The Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Reference Group tasked with providing oversight of the co-design and implementation of new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage regulations and supporting guidance has been appointed by Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Hon. Dr Tony Buti MLA.  

Comprised of four members from the Aboriginal community, industry and government who will report to the Minister, the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Reference Group will play an important oversight role in ensuring the delivery of the co-design process in the timeframes set.   

Two Aboriginal community leaders and members of the current Aboriginal Cultural Materials Committee (ACMC), Ms Merle Carter and Mr Lindsay Dean, have been appointed as the Aboriginal community representatives, while industry and government will be represented respectively by Ms Bronwyn Bell (CMEWA) and Mr Anthony Kannis (Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage).
