PORTFOLIOS
Environment
Environmental management is a high priority for Western Australia’s minerals and energy industry. The industry recognises the public’s high expectations for responsible management and strives to meet and exceed these expectations through sustainable environmental practices, advocating for effective regulatory capacity and frameworks and responding to climate change.
Land Access
Continued land access and use through sustainable practices is vital to ensure an ongoing social licence to operate and coupled with effective regulatory capacity and frameworks is integral to the leadership vision of the Western Australian resources sector.
People Strategies
There is a need to attract, build and retain a skilled workforce in Western Australia to meet the requirements of the resources industry now and into the future. CME is dedicated to advocating the resources industry throughout our community as a great career opportunity that provides individuals with a flexible, interesting and innovative work place.
Infrastructure
WA's prosperity is closely linked to the strength of the resource sector. The inputs of land, water, energy and infrastructure must be successfully planned and managed to maintain and grow the sector and enhance global competitiveness. CME works across industry, government and community to develop policies which contribute to the sector’s sustainable development.
Economics and Tax
As the industry continues to face increasing costs, skills shortages and changes to government policy, CME works closely with members and government to ensure the international competitiveness of the sector.
Occupational Safety & Health
CME's vision for Occupational Safety and Health is for a sustainable resources industry that has a passion for the protection of people.
