CME Member Sundowner

CME members are invited to an evening of fine wines, canapés and an informative overview of Shell's Prelude Floating LNG Project, potentially the world's first FLNG development
PRESENTATION DETAILS:
Shell’s Prelude and Concerto gas fields in the Browse Basin contain around 3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The relatively small size of the gas fields and their remote location, some 200km from the nearest point on the mainland and around 475km north-northeast of Broome, make them ideal for development using Shell’s Floating LNG technology as it would not be economic to develop the gas via a conventional onshore LNG plant.
Shell took a Final Investment Decision on the Project in May this year, and is now progressing with plans to construct the facility which at 488m long, 74m wide and 600,000 tonnes when fully loaded, will be one of the largest floating structures ever built. Bruce Steenson, Shell’s Vice President of Prelude, will give an overview of the Project to date and the plans ahead for bringing this innovative development to fruition.
