Engineer

Instrument fitters assemble, calibrate, install and commission precision instruments that measure, indicate, transmit, record and control. Instrument fitters in the minerals industry may perform the following operations:

  • fit and assemble instrument parts;
  • check instruments for accuracy and calibrate using standard weights and measures;
  • install industrial instruments and control gear, sensors, transmitters, meters etc;
  • dismantle and reassemble delicate mechanisms or circuits;
  • overhaul or repair instruments;
  • check performance using testing instruments.
